was a bookworm from childhood, and although I originally trained to be a physiotherapist, I always intended to write one day. My opportunity came when I ‘retired’ to have my first baby, and I was then free to fulfil 2 ambitions - to become a writer and a mother - all at the same time!
I began by writing short articles about my experiences of life as a young mum, and then entered a competition for new authors of children’s fiction that I won. A second baby and a 2nd children’s book followed and then I began to write adult non-fiction. Over the past 30 years I have seen 21 books published on family related topics, including the best-selling ‘Gift ‘ series for Lion Publishing.
I love getting together with other writers, and am a founder member and former Chair of the British Association of Christian Writers. It’s also a joy and privilege to share my skills with writers in Eastern Europe and other places in the world where there is little Christian literature written by the people who live there. Our family gradually grew to 5 children, all now adults, and they have provided us with 11 grandchildren so far. My husband, Gordon, is a retired dentist, and when we have not got our noses pressed to our respective computer screens, we love walking, travel and supporting and encouraging those involved with overseas mission from our church.
