Welcome! I’m so glad that you’ve paused for a moment in my small corner of the
Web. Whether you’ve just found me, or are returning for another visit, I hope you’ll take a moment to look around
my updated site and discover the
books I have written, the topics I’d love talk to your group about,
the overseas writers I work with and
my hopes and dreams for the next stage of my life.
One of my favourite ways of spending an evening is
to share a meal with friends. What we eat and drink is not particularly important – it’s the conversation that
matters. We look back and laugh about our youthful escapades. We talk about the issues that confront us now and
wrestle with questions of faith and family. Nothing is off-limits. We challenge each other’s pre-suppositions and
get fresh glimpses of truth through the eyes of a trusted companion.
My latest book ‘It’s Just You and Me
Lord’ is a book of prayers which is intended to resemble that
kind of evening, because prayer, at its best is like sharing a meal with a loved and trusted
friend.
Jesus
says, “ Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear
my voice and open the door I will come in and we will share a meal together as
friends.” Rev. 3:20
NIV
Some of the topics I have written about spring from
my own experience, but many are rooted in the pain and challenges faced by others. All these conversations with God
spring from life as we experience it in the 21st C. And when we honestly and openly share our joys our pain and our
perplexity with Him, we come away from the encounter changed and strengthened.
So if you’ve ever wanted to pray about celebrating Christmas as the lone
worshipper in your family, weep over the a son who has turned his back on faith, or try to understand the
fascination of ‘screens’ but somehow couldn’t put it into words, then this is the book for you.
It’s Just You
and Me Lord. Available from Discovery House from

“Prayer is not an old woman’s idle amusement. Properly
understood and applied it is the most potent instrument of action.”
